Who IS AHMERE?
Ahmere Harper is a senior journalism major and film studies minor at Hampton University. A passionate storyteller, she amplifies the voices of underrepresented individuals in media, fashion, and beauty, exploring the intersections of culture and creativity.
From Charlotte, North Carolina, she stands out at Hampton as a student leader and creative force. She serves as Onyx 13 Senior Class Representative to the Organizational Board, President of HerCampus Hampton U, a member of the Greer Dawson Wilson Student Leadership Training Program, and on the Student Government Association Media Team. Harper also founded The GALS Mentorship Program, empowering young women through leadership and mentorship. Harper is the founder of The Aesthetic Filez, a media brand celebrating Black culture through storytelling in fashion, lifestyle, and culture. What began as a student project has grown into a platform for narrative-driven content and cultural commentary.
She has interned at Hearst Media Production Group and Digital Brand Architects, gaining experience in media production, influencer marketing, and brand partnerships. Proficient in multimedia production, creative direction, writing, and digital strategy, Harper plans to expand her creative agency, Found Novarre.
